This survey was created to determine how safe students feel on GGC campus. I initiated this survey based on my affiliation with the GGC Staff Council. The Staff Council voices staff issues and recommends improvements to the Executive Council which in turn reports to the Cabinet. A major point of concern for the Staff Council is campus safety. Since I fit both roles as staff and student, I wanted to get feedback from students on their campus safety concerns, if any. |

A sample survey was taken from five individuals, one who was not a student and four who were students. Out of the five surveyed, all took day classes. Only two students were taking both day and night classes. Responses to why these students felt safe on campus were varied. Responses included reasons, such as: Campus police presence and quick response, well lit campus, and self capabilities to avert danger. Only one student responded in the negative due to feelings of vulnerability in general. Therefore, the consensus among those sampled is that there is no concern when it comes to student safety on GGC campus. |
